Earlier this year I decided to close down my Instagram account for Dragonfly Marketing. I shared the reasons for this in an article written for Smallville and then Mumbrella republished the article.

There were a few reasons I decided that my Instagram account was not really serving me and helping me achieve my business goals, mainly that my main target persona does not use Instagram. I also felt that investing additional money and time into this platform was not going to provide me with the same return on investment that my personal LinkedIn profile and my Dragonfly Marketing Facebook page does.

I urge any small business owner not to use a social media channel for the sake of using it. It’s always a good idea to ensure that your social media channels are providing you with a return. And if they are not, bin them.
